Hi Matt, Along with John Chesnutt, I too would like to know if the compressor is now "toast" or OK. If it seized from lack of lubricant oil and tossed the belts aside, all this talk about belt lengths seems somewhat mute. Have you turned it back on yet with any belts in place.? I know when I blew the high pressure line on my '61 dual air wagon, the A/C guy who really knew his stuff, made sure the compressor oil was tip top as well after repair and recharge. I learned something that day. That was 6 years ago and still coolin'. To my knowledge, (and I'm not an expert here) just recharging with freon does not help a system that has blown the oil out with the refrigerant. It also probably matters if the leak is slow or very rapid as mine was near the high side of the compressor. As an aside note, the A/C guy brougt his staff over to see how a "real" A/C system should function noting the proper pressures that my system generated, commenting, "They don't make 'em like they used to!" You have a leak in the system.
