[Chrysler300] attaching 300 Window (felt) Trims

If the item one is having 'attaching' trouble with is the black felt chrome
edged looking piece that stops the glass/window rattling, being loose (that
is often usually stapled to body on some cars) it is often quite good/OK to
use a black urethane adhesive/sealant - in Australia we have a German brand
"Sicaflex". Area to be attached to must/should be clean, and allow (at
least/usually) a day to cure fully'
Sicaflex is OK to use on steel bodywork, unlike Silicone which for some
reason attracts, causes/speeds rust - some other there in US can explain why
- I think silicones attack the paint, 'pulls in' moisture. Silcone also
does not have the dry adhesive strength of Sicaflex
Not much news from me in Oz, other than can I suggest if you can avoid a
rusty 300C, do it - there is a lot of time/effort in rebuilding one 100%
correct - the nice looking black one on Ebay that just ended in the $40k
range (unsold?) would likely work out way cheaper than buying a cheap rusty
one.
Trivia thought - on what date 50 years ago was the new 1957 Chrysler range
released - somewhere about this time/date soon ??!
happy 300ing Christopher
