Thanks to all who responded about trailering my 300-D - it seems that the general consensus is that the trailer I saw for sale locally is insufficient for the car, except for short tows, and would likely be problematic even for that purpose. There were many specific recommendations, most of which were along the lines of using a trailer with at least 7000# capacity, making sure there are excellent brakes preferably on both axles, and that the tires are new and of a high load capacity.
