I am nearly positive that is a 300K I used to own. I sold it a couple years ago to a guy here in so cal who had it painted and did the engine bay and interior work. The car was a virgin California rust free car when I owned it, zero rust anywhere and still had shiny original paint. Even the original paint on the trunk floor was glossy. The car had been sitting for many years and needed a resto or at least some resto work. It was from an estate or charity sale here in California, which is why it has a salvage title. The car was a virgin, never wrecked whatsoever. It is very common for cars sold here at auctions or insurance, charity sales to sell the vehicles on a salvage certificate. They don't have to worry about warranty issues or lawsuits that way. Doesn't matter if the car is mint, people are just paranoid these days. Salvage titles are not the end of the world. I don't think they mean squat on an old car. They can be "washed" or cleared if it really bugs you. This just involves transferring the title to another state that doesn't acknowledge salvage titles on older vehicles which means it will be clear when you get it back. Keep in mind that the state which issues the cars title as salvage in the first place will still have the cars vin on record as salvage for as long as that state keeps records up. In California that is 3-7 years. If the title is transferred back to the origin state within that time it will be issued a salvage title again. Since all states are different you should check with your state dmv before dealing with this. Do NOT give the dmv the vin of the car during an inquiry like this EVER. In many states inquiries are recorded, so now you have possibly screwed up dealing with that car in your state. Last time I checked some states do not even allow salvage title cars to EVER be registered there. They have to go out of state or be scrapped! Pennsylvania used to be this way, maybe still and there may be other states as well like this. So don't worry about the salvage title thing, but be prepared for the possibility of jumping through a few hoops.
