I've put some headman headers on my 62 300. I think the part number was 78070. I had to cut off the collector on one side and reweld it on at a different angle. These are the shorty style header, not the block huggers or full length ones. The fit in there well and I also welded on a piece I got from napa for the heat tube to the choke. There are a couple of drawbacks, I was unable to use the heatshields on the motormounts, and the dipstick had to be worked into place. I don't have a problem with the motormounts now because there's a steel rod running through them(not so floating power), but when I put the new ones on, I got from Imperial Services, I'm going to wrap the headers in heat tape and paint them with cast iron paint. I can still get my starter out fairly easily. The alteration to the headers was fairly easy and I think most exhaust shops could do it. I haven't had a problem and it's been nearly three years, not bad for the $115 I paid for the set.
