[Chrysler300] Wide white Radials

Hi Group,

FYI : Two items

I called Diamond Back Classics yesterday about some radial 235/75/15's.
After finding out that I could order any size whitewall I wanted, the
guy I spoke with (Richard, who seemed very knowledgeable) said that
they no longer had that size made by Firestone, BUT that they now have
it in a Uniroyal made by MICHELIN.!!!! I didn't ask if other sizes
could also be had in Uniroyal by Michelin but those that like Michelins
may want to consider this company. It was in their "Diamond Back
Supreme" line of tires.

I then asked their view on using radials on older vintage wheels. He
directed me to a page on their website that discusses this and said it
was a summary from the National Highway Transportation Safety Board.
You can see what they have to say by clicking on the link below and
read page 29 "Rims vs. Radials - Old Wives Tale or Fact" (from the
online catalog) on their website. The summary, for those who wish not
to go there, indicates that bias tires cause MORE stress on wheels than
radials!
