Fuel pumps are designed to blow fuel out the pump when the diaphragm fails, else the fuel would go into the crankcase. Do sure which is worse, contaminate your oil or blow fuel all over your engine and hot exhaust manifolds and burn the car down. Anyhow this is the theory I am told.
