[Chrysler300] Powerflite Introduction

Regards Powerflite availability, this started in late 1953, probably first in Imperials and in a few New Yorkers.  My "Adam" '53 New Yorker Pan Am car has a Powerflite and is the 5the to last '53 NYer built.  It also does NOT have the extended bellhousing of the '51-53 Chrysler Hemis.  Adam has been estimated to be rated at 315 HP.

See a pattern here?  The Powerflite transmission was introduced in the highest horsepower producing car models late in '53 to prove its mettle for full introduction in the 1954 year.  Similarly, the Torqueflite transmission was introduced in the highest horsepower producing car models late in '56 to prove its mettle for introduction in the 1957 year.  The only difference here is that the old semi automatics were totally dropped after 1953 whereas the Powerflite continued production in the lower horsepower models for several more years because it was fully adequate to the task.
