(Chrysler 300 C) It´s established the problem is in the steering box and not in the centre link or at steering ends. The small rubber part at end of steering column is also in great shape. To tighten the adjustment further on the 4-nut bolted cover on steering box itself seems only to make the steering harder to turn without removing the play. Second question is about for which years are the steering boxes the same? The older cars (55-56) seems to have a triangular shaped cover where the adjustment nut is located. 57 at least is square shape 4-nuts and newer like -60 looks like to have a circular shape. Also; Anyone knows if this particular issue (How to deal with dead play in steering box Chrysler 300 C) is delt with in any of the Chrysler service bulletins? Seems to be a general issue on cars over here and would be great to learn how to deal with and get a more safe and comfortable ride on the road with the old big brutes.
