Hi John, Just a shot, try Jeff Carter (www.jcauto.com) or Gary Goers. They both seem to have some pretty rare stuff at time. Regards, John Lyons _____ From: Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of John Sent: Thursday, May 17, 2007 4:11 PM To: Chrysler 300 Club Int'l Subject: [Chrysler300] Aluminum Dashboard Texture 1959 VS 1958 My 1958 300-D is originally a radio-delete car, according to the microfilm record research, compliments of Gil Cunningham. Is the aluminum dashboard texture the same in 1958 and 1959? If so, I could take the 1959 glove box door aluminum from a '59 Windsor I'm parting out, and cut it to shape to make my radio delete plate. Radio delete plates seem to pretty darn uncommon - I know that Michael Vath found an NOS one for his 300-C a while ago. I've tried partsvoice.com, Neil Freman and am about to contact Frank Mitchell, upon Michael V's advice. Through information from club members, including Wayne Graefen, I have a good description comparing '57 & '58 plates: (below from Wayne) The radio delete plate does differ from '57 to '58 because the texture of the aluminum background changed between years. Other than that, it is a solid clear plastic face and a solid piece of aluminum without button and dial holes punched out. In essence, they are both just "blanks". I have access to a crazed OEM plastic face plate for a radio-delete plate (Michael Vath), and the business next door to my workplace does custom lexan & plexiglass work to military specifications. I think they could likely duplicate the plastic part, then return the original part to Mr. Vath. My 300-D is more than a few hours away from me, so it's not easy to get to. Thanks!
