Just about all pot metal is "chromable" unless it has lost its cast form via accident or truly exceptional deterioration. The real questions should be about the quality of the plating company that will do the work. Do they triple plate (copper, nickel, chrome)? Do they have the option of using the "acid copper" process (there is a more technical name also) that will fill pits by making the copper flow into them rather than plating the depth of them? Do they offer a guarantee on their work? Are the same employees still here that did quality work the last time? And then last but not least, what do they charge to do this? There is only one shop in the whole huge state of Texas that I will let touch my parts: Speed and Sport Chrome in Houston. Ain't cheap; wouldn't want it to be.
