   I have a 'part & casting numbers book' of Galen's, a 2001 edition, which goes back only to '61 on cylinder heads.

  I think your answer may be found in Galen Govier's book on casting numbers 
  ($10.00 from Galen).. I had one but have no idea of where it is now. IN any 
  event, it gives casting numbers for intakes, exhausts, engines, rams, etc.
