When I was a teenager, I had a 1957 Plymouth Belvedere 2dr HT.  I installed
a rear speaker on the rear shelf.  The metal under the rear shelf
was already cut out or stamped at the factory for an oval speaker, something
like a 6 by 10 inch speaker.  I wired the rear speaker in parallel with the
existing front dash speaker.  I think that I also mounted a rear fader
control to the bottom of the dash to get front to back balance.   The radio
had plenty of power to support both speakers, and it sounded great.
