RE: [Chrysler300] CLAMPS

It is pretty obvious these clamps are heat-treated after forming. Small
scratches, gouges or corrosion pits can lead to quick failure of these
stiff, brittle pieces. Suggest periodic inspection and replacement of
damaged clamps. Unfortunately, one cannot see the surface next to the hose.

Hi All:
Perhaps this will jinx me, but I have never used any clamp other than the
Corbin type. The 300H had been driven to 40 meets and the 300F to 4. I
don't
remember how many the 300K went to (much less than the "H", that is for
sure.) Never had one fail nor leak. I figure if they were good enough for

Chrysler, little ole me should be able to get by with them.

For what it is worth, I don't use Corbin clamps any more. They can break
after installation, even new ones, and sometimes you can't even tell that
have broken.

If you feel that you must be "correct" you might consider using the Corbin
clamps backed up by the screw clamps. When you get to your show (or meet)
you
can remove the back up screw clamps and replace them when you are ready to

leave. You can do the same thing with your "wet" batteries as well, by
bringing
them along in your trunk.
