[Chrysler300] Spring meet - traveling to Eagle River

Hello from the Northwoods,

My thanks to Dave Schwandt for his alert about poor road conditions westbound on parts of I-94 in the IN, MI, and IL areas around Chicago.  Although Dave isn't able to attend he was also thoughtful enough to sent some very nice gifts that we will distribute at the meet.

This link to WI roadway conditions http://www.dot.wisconsin.gov/travel/road/workzones.htm might also be worth checking to avoid some possible bottlenecks.

Barb and I travel quite often from Eagle River to our hometown Toledo, Ohio and we almost always travel through Michigan instead of around Chicago.  We take I-75 up through the Lower Peninsula, cross the spectacular Mackinac Bridge, and then take Rt 2 accross the Upper Peninsula.  It is a very nice, scenic, and calm drive and only slightly longer.

For those who might want a change of pace and a break in driving there are two car ferries crossing Lake Michigan from Michigan to Wisconsin.  The Lake-Express is the newer, faster, and more expensive ferry http://www.lake-express.com/  The Badger is the more traditional ferry http://www.ssbadger.com/newhome.aspx  I'm sure a Chrysler 300 would be quite a hit on either ferry.
