Hi,
If you've the forward clutch driving in neutral, two solutions (except
the one with a bad cable adjustement)
- Contamined transmission fluid (with water or liquid coolant) , the
clutches have "inflated" so they are always engaged.
- bad "travel of clutch pressure plate" see page 316 of the 57 FSM : too
tight and the clutches are always engaged.
i've encountered the two !!
PS: if you need some pics about how to measure the travel, let me know..
