Thanks to all who responded on the color and methods of applying the beltline stripe to the chrome on a 300 L . I received a lot of good advice. I decided on the 1/4" pin stripe. I had tried the masking and paint in the past. Masking is not my strong suit and although the paint stayed on after I used the self etching primer prior to painting the edge was not real good. The 1/4" pin stripe I purchased for $6 at Auto Zone (40 foot length is just right for one car) went on easy and looks very nice. I folded the ends under on each piece so I am hoping there will be no unraveling. I may put a drop of epoxy on the underside of each end or each piece and hope it stays. Thanks again. Always good information from this site. I will have the L in Niles Michigan for the Krasl Concours on August 9. Come and see the stripe and 9 other 300's. The letter series 300's are being featured at this show. Rolland Westra **************Gas prices getting you down? Search AOL Autos for fuel-efficient used cars.
