[Chrysler300] George Laurie/300 G Rear lenses and 300 sill plates

I know George going to Washington State somewhere along the way while he's here -

When I was doing a search for 300s and other Chryslers on Craigslist a few weeks ago, I came across a very cheap '57 Chrysler Saratoga Town & Country Wagon on Craigslist out there, and I called the owner to find out more details.  He said the car was sold, and that he had a deposit on it from an Australian.  I asked if if was George Laurie, and the owner said yes, and sounded awfully surprised that I knew who it was.

Hi all,

It is true that George Laurie has had a lot of "down time Down Under". However, I surpisedly met George at the National DeSoto meet last weekend in Gettysburg, PA so he is not at home in OZ. After a chat, I asked him how long he was here in the US. He said he was here and in Canada until later September so I would think that those in a hurry for lenses should be very patient!

And speaking of reproductions, I still have a limited number of C300 and 300B (Imperial and DeSoto 2 door) door sill plates left. All 4 pieces are beautifully die stamped as originals. Interested parties should contact me off server.

All the best,
John Cote

Subject: [Chrysler300] Horn repair and 300 G Rear lenses set??

Matt:

I tried to get a 6-Volt trumpet horn on our C-300 going by flooding the

body with Deep Creep or Kroil to no avail. I popped the hemi cap off to

access the "works" and did some chipping and scraping of rust until the

vibrating diaphragm was free at the center and around the edges and the

points were filed smooth. Rust develops, flakes off and prevents the

diaphragm from vibrating. I then fiddled with the tone adjusting screw with

proper voltage attached until the thing started to work, then adjusted the

tone screw for best volume and clarity and reassembled it.

It continues to work well and provides a very satisfying two-tone blast.

I hope this high-tech language tells the tale. Good luck so you can be

doubly horny!

Re the taillight lenses, member George Laurie of Australia does reproduce

and sell them, but has suffered production and delivery problems as outlined

Best wishes to both of you.

Hello 300 Group,

?

It was great to meet some of you in Carlisle this past Friday. All the cars

looked great! I loved that 300 G wagon!

?

My 300 G tail lights have faded to a pumpkin orange and need help

desperately! Anybody have a pair sitting in your garage or basement that are

red and you would like to let go? I certainly would appreciate any

assistance.

?

I have also been trying to get my "HI" horn working. I have filled it with

WD 40, tapped on it but so far nothing. Any suggestions? I have power to it,

I even got the horn to beep a few times but I guess it was a short

awakening.

?

Thanking you in advance.

?

Warm Regards,

?
