RE: [Chrysler300] Values of C300,300F conv,300G conv,Silver 300K cpe

>From photos of cars (300s) parked close alongside each other, it is hard to see/guess/know how much rust these -barn find' 300s have, and the value of a seemingly good restorable rust free 300F or G convertible is obviously higher than a rusted out lower body car that has been used/lived on eastern winter salt roads?

And all that is before what is any restorable 300F or G, other 300s, worth - would it be more than the seriously rusted out 300C convert that finished on ebay recently - that one at least having donor other cars as possible package with it? Or one could say 'what is a restored 300F convert worth minus the cost of restoring one', less something more for the pain and grief/time involved in restoring such cars - then that is a figure that is maybe not too stupid?!

And since a kiwi (hi Owen, getting our cold lousy weather over there after it has hit us first?!) has thrown in his two bobs worth re merits or not of 300s going overseas, here in Australia many rare sports and racing cars that sold new or perhaps later were imported from overseas (UK, Europe and US), say 20-30 years ago, (sadly to me) they seem to too often get 'bought back' later on, mainly because the country they came from when not so wanted then, later on decides they are worth more there (then/now), and their big money talks, and they leave.
( Recently a super original race history D Type Jag left, as did a race 300S Maserati that early 1960s my dad used to be friends with who owned it then, although sadly I too stupid to ask my dad he ask him to take me as a 12 year old for a run in it. And Australia's only supposed 1930s Duesenberg, purchased new for the staggering price of a whole year's wool clip from the nation's largest sheep station, despite hidden away in a locked garage unknown on remote outback Queensland Station for decades, was somehow found, snuck out back to America sometime late 60s early 70s - it a so so rare supercharged (Rolston or Murphy my guess) Convertible Victoria with near zero miles, as it's owner supposedly murdered/killed a second person (being I guess aborigine station hands, the first was OK, but not a second/!!), and prewarned by phone the local Police they would have to arrest him if he still there when they had driven the 30 miles to his home, he fled to South America when the car likely less than a year old.
(The rare expensive pistol used in 2nd murder still is here though, though it not ever 'officially' existing re the Police ever having it.) )

Cars will go where they are valued most, so if America wants to keep any cars, all they/you have to do is value them as much as others - sad but true - look at rare paintings - they end up everywhere, rarely where they originated from?!

The 300s discussed now have two values - one: what they are worth to someone who wants one, and then a lessor (maybe not honest?!) value, namely if someone wished to nick them for a fast buck!? - the Club needs to tread carefully if it goes down the latter route, even if near all of us might dream of finding/getting such cars real cheap? And even deciding what they are worth, that does not mean that is exactly what they sell for - they might sell for less if a rushed or poorly handled sale. Or if no one at that moment wants to take on a 300F or G, other 300 project?

John & AllWhere are these cars located? What is the asking price for the G convert & F Convert? It appeared in the photo that the F did not have cross ram. Is that possible?Regards,Matt----- Original Message ----From: John <spiers@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: Chrysler 300 Club Intl <chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>Cc: Peggy Welke <peggywelke@xxxxxxxxx>Sent: Sunday, August 17, 2008 12:48:49 AMSubject: [Chrysler300] Values of C300,300F conv,300G conv,Silver 300K cpeGroup, The co-owner of the cars below asked my opinion as to a starting point of the value of each of her 300s. I can only offer her my 300K experience that would be useful to her, and defer to the more knowledgeable members in regard to the other cars. Here is the body of the email from her to me today: John? You know the cars are in sad shape but being a collector you know that the value they have. What do you think is a reasonable price to ask? We don't want to ask too much and not sell them or ask too little. We're selling these because my father in law passed away a couple years ago. He bought the cars SEVERAL years ago w/ intentions of restoring them and he got sick and passed away before he could do that. This was what he planned to do for "retirement" money. Well being he got sick he never restored them and he doesn't really have a "retirement" so now we're trying to sell these off so hopefully Daryl's mom can fix her house up some so that money isn't so tight for her. So if you could possibly suggest a fair price we can ask for a little more then that and then do best offer. Thanks Peggy What do you think would be a fair asking price for the following Chrysler 300 letter cars: (and there are a few other makes mixed in) - again, here are links to each. 1949 Lincoln Cosmopolitan Business Coupehttp://rides. webshots. com/album/ 565316155SexyGO 1955 Chrysler C 300http://good- times.webshots. com/album/ 565317237ZgDbLI 1958 Plymouth Furyhttp://good- times.webshots. com/album/ 565323516DxstYq 1960 Chrysler New Yorkerhttp://good- times.webshots. com/album/ 565332078rmKKZx 1960 Chrysler 300 F Convertiblehttp://good- times.webshots. com/album/ 565330278Yvydse 1961 Chrysler 300 G Convertiblehttp://good- times.webshots. com/album/ 565325039dKOMrd 1964 1/2 Chrysler 300 K Silver Anniversary http://good- times.webshots. com/album/565323552 LFlDTN I cc'd the co-owner of the cars - please feel free to either send your suggestions to her directly, or to the list so I can compile the combined brainpower of the 300 Club.
