Bill and All: The 300D pictured in Ackerson's book (Chrysler 300 America's Most Powerful Car) on pg 64 with Bob Rodger has a hood pad and the road test car in the April 1958 issue of Road and Track also appears to have one. I am not near my original car so can't examine it for remnants at this time. Hope this is of some help. 300ly, Gil C. In a message dated 9/26/2008 5:51:29 P.M. I don't see one on other photos I have seen, am I correct that these cars did not have hood pads?
