Bill and All:
The 300D pictured in Ackerson's book (Chrysler 300 America's Most Powerful  
Car) on pg 64 with Bob Rodger has a hood pad and the road test car in the April 
 1958 issue of Road and Track also appears to have one.  I am not near my  
original car so can't examine it for remnants at this time.    Hope this is of 
some help.
