Overadvanced spark at idle, no load can cause rough running. An early advance such as would result from your distributor problem will not cause the stumbling I recall that you wrote about earlier. Certainly the distributor needs to be fixed, but it won't cure all of your "run" problem. Sorry for the bad news. You have air leaks or carburetor problem.
