Vern Graber holds a very, very special place in my heart as well as Eleanor so did. Since Vern lived not too far away from us, we would visit. We would go there and he would come here, this after his dear wife passed away and before. "We" even had a "mini-meet" at his house. He would call and ask if we would be home, he would come over. When here, he and I would do some mechanical "stuff" in the shop. We would exchange "car" experiences. He even helped me cut my 7 acres of grass one time. Both of us on riding mowers, we would play "dodge-em" and pretend we were race car drivers. Great fun! During Eleanor's illness, Vern would call and talk to her. One half hour to an hour. Don't know just what was said, but Eleanor seemed to "perk up" for awhile after the conversation. Michael, Linda Burke and I did a visitation at the funeral home on Sunday. Vern is gone but never will be forgot!
