Re: [Chrysler300] '60 Valiant

The Valiant was introduced as a stand alone brand in 1960. The Dodge Dart was also introduced in 1960 and was the same size as the Plymouth Fury (and other trim levels). The Polara and Matador were the larger size cars. In 1961, the Dodge version of the Valiant was called the Lancer. I think the Valiant became the Plymouth Valiant as early as 1961. At least it was quite early on.

  Rich,

You might want to check the history a bit on the Valiant. When it was first
introduced it was a stand-alone Chrysler brand. It was folded into the
Plymouth group in '61. This is according to the "Plymouth and DeSoto Story"
  by Don Butler, Crestline books.

Thanks for the link, some nice photographs including the 300C convert.

You may want to visit this site to view some interesting '40's to '60's
cars, including a couple of 300's!

  http://www.billsret<http://www.billsret/> <http://www.billsretroworld.com/cars.htm<http://www.billsretroworld.com/cars.htm>>
  roworld.com/cars.htm

Clicking on Home, then Links takes you to another page that has an email
address for the webmaster. He snapped up a photo of our 300 and popped it
onto his website. Pictures of a few more 300's would certainly improve the
quality of the site! I'll inform the webmaster that the 1960 Valiant was a
  Plymouth, not a Chrysler.
