Danny: Thanks for your note. I hope you have not missed any copies of Brute Force. The Oct-Dec, 2009 was just mailed out. Please let me know if you did not receive it. I will update our database when I return home later this month. I?m sending a copy of this to the server connecting about 450 members of the other Chrysler 300 Club, of which I am also a member so that they might schedule a trip to Ellis, KS when in the vicinity. We all appreciate the heritage, creativity and automotive genius that W.P. Chrysler contributed to the Chrysler Corporation that led directly to what we consider a high point in that corporation's history--the Chrysler 300's of 1955 to date. But, I'm wondering if old WPC is not spinning in his grave over the recent history of that great organization. We visited the small town of Oelwein, IA after attending a Chrysler 300 Club, Int. meet in Branson, MO last month. I lived in Oelwein as a young teen in 1949-1952 but don?t recall hearing anything about W.P Chrysler having lived there while he ran the Chicago Great Western operation in that vicinity (1906-1909)?or that his son, W.P. Chrysler, Jr., and daughter Bernice were born there. Now, Oelwein has documented Chrysler?s presence there with a small park with a gazebo and plaques on his work and life there. (See: http://www.chryslerheritage.com/sec500_pdf/Chapter1.pdf for details.) It was rainy while we were there, but I did take a few pictures and will forward them to you at a later date if you wish. I also took some pictures of a Maxwell while travelling and can send those also if you wish. And, I have current shots of the Chrysler 300's and other MoPars at the Branson show if those are of any use to you. Thanks for your work in developing, archiving and preserving the heritage of our hero. Let us know next time you have a celebration/parade there and we'll try to get a Chrysler 300 there.
