I've seen it done both ways. Apparently depends on a tradeoff of justifiable paranoia vs. a pretty minor selling point displayed to the great unwashed. Non-disclosure maintains a level of anonymity in early phases of negotiation and bidding on e-Bay. I'd ask for that VIN before bidding, though, and try to get a CarFax report and a check of the two clubs' databases. Paranoia works both ways. At some time both parties have to exert a little trust.
