Christopher, The tents at B/J & R&S were all rated for 60 to 80 MPH winds. Up close and in person they are VERY substancial and well constructed not cheap at all... The reason the tents colapsed at R&S was because the ground was saturated due to all the rainfall and the anchors gave way. R&S takes place in a dirt lot, B/J is held at a City maintained facility and the majority of the B/J tents are anchored in asphalt or are permanant structures. Are all the mega auction car display/storage tents so poor/flimsy ?! Any would be 300 seller might pay to check how strong any tenrts are before letting them put their/any 300 into one? > > > > Australia in summer sees in near every outback/country area, 'wily wilys', little mini vortexes, funnels, that tear through, usual just enough to push dust, grass and rubbish everywhere in the few secs they take to go through, but in bigger cases, they can blow down trees, rip sheds apart. Circuses which used to travel country towns years back, would never use so weak a tent, nor likely would laws allow them to. The often so common mini summer vortexes are caused by different temperature differences (inversions), from bleached pasture and say red ploughed fields - many things - glider pilots love the rising air they cause. > > > > Christopher Australia > > ps some 2010 Mopar prices still good - hemi superbird at BJ is listed in results as making over I think $250k, plus '57 mopar (DeSoto?)coupe at around $75k ?! > > > > > To: chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > From: ronbo97@... > Date: Sun, 24 Jan 2010 13:23:57 -0500 > Subject: [Chrysler300] 300C Damaged at R&S Auction > > > > > > http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=29049&posts=29&start=29 > > The above link will take you directly to a post on the FL message board > showing a black 300C that sustained damage to the front end as a result of > the severe weather encountered at the Russo & Steele auction.
