I've often wondered the same thing, lol.  Mine had more finish on it than the one in the pics and it appeared to have a metallic turquoise finish.  I sprayed mine with AMC turqoise engine paint and to my eye at least, it was a good match.  Nobody has ever commented or questioned it except my machinist; he was sick to see AMC paint on a Mopar....lol.

A friend of mine is restoring his 65 300L and asked about the crank pulley. His car has AC. He commented about the odd iridescent paint he found on the back of the pulley so I went out to my parts car and found the same thing. These are the pictures of my pulley.

What is the correct color for the pulley? Engine color? Black? Something else?
