George, I used a can of Plasti-kote engine enamel, 223 Universal Gold, then top coated with Plasti-kote clear engine enamel. Engine enamel resists the effects of the high heat and enamel paint holds up much better than lacquer and has a much nicer gloss. Then I added the decals to each air cleaner. I've gotten no criticism on the color, so I assume it's close to correct.
