RE: [Chrysler300] radio repair

Charlie, Yes it is likely the volume control rheostat. Go to radio shack and buy contact cleaner spray battle. Spray it into the volume control and turn the volume control serveral times from end to end. Disconnect the battery before doing this to avoid extreme high volume. Hope it works. Regards, Bob Blohm

Subject: [Chrysler300] radio repair

 Hi To All,
Thanks to all who gave advise on clock repair in my 62. Shes now ticking away smoothly (although 5 minutes a day fast). After re and re'ing the complete dash for various issues, the last item to address is the radio (model 327). So is there anyone with experience with these old semi - tube radios. The issue is that when I turn the radio on, the volume is very loud and I can't lower it. I suspect it may be the volume control, but could it be one of the tubes?
Thanks, Charlie in Ottawa
