First of all----diminished braking capability is a certainty. I can't imagine why you might want that even though with conservative driving techniques you'll be safe enough. Second---- the wheel cylinder pushes on the center of the brake shoes' width. If your narrower shoe rests properly against the backplate (which I doubt) then your wheel cylinder geometry is upset by a quarter of an inch. I don't think you can fit them to your system. You might get away with putting narrow lining on the original width shoe. -----------------mg ---------- Original Message ---------- From: rick waselewski <foxmotor@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: <chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: [Chrysler300] front brake shoes Date: Thu, 3 Jun 2010 22:25:29 +0000 Just out of curiosity......what would be any problems I might encounter if I put 2 1/2" front brake shoes on my 70 Chrysler 300 which has it's origional drums which were 3"?
