There is a Craftsman tool which is a flat bar with 2 curved hooks on the working end. the other end has a soft handle.
The hooks are different from each other for different applications. They slip under the lip, slide to the edge and rock back, pulling the seal out.
I've had o0ne for 30-4- years and needed it last week. Of course, couldn't find it and had to buy one. $9.00, as I remember @ a Sears store
