The term "Crown Imperial" through the era only applies to the long wheel base eight passenger sedan of which 23 were built. Also, the limousine which was basically the same car as previously listed except it had a divider bulk head and glass between the front seat and the rear passenger area. There were 77 limos built for the 1954 model run. These cars were all built on a 145.5" wheelbase and had an overall length of 236.5". There was a shorter version of the Imperial sedan built as a "Custom Imperial Town Sedan" which was 133.5" wheelbase. This also had the divider and some other unique features. Only 85 units of this car were built in 1954. I'm somewhat familiar with these cars as the person I share storage space with for our cars has a '53 example of the Town Sedan with only 47,000 miles which was owned by Alma Spreckels of Spreckels Sugar fame. I've attached a photo of this example along with a 1950 New Yorker Sedan, but not sure if it will come through on this post. The four door sedan was listed as a "Custom Imperial and was built on a 133.5" wheelbase. A two door version of the Imperial was noted as a "Custom Imperial Newport" and was built on a 131.5" wheelbase. Two production numbers are listed for the Newport, 1249 and 1250.
