[Chrysler300] chrysler 300 ebay new parts seller problem

The occasional problems of buying on ebay when the seller doesn't care once he has your money - fortunately it does not happen often, but is it then worth trying to get a fair outcome??!!

About 2 years ago, I bought a pair of new repo 1957 Chrysler Starter Relays of a big volume ebay seller - one who often specialises in Chryslers of the 50s early 60s era. He specifically listed them as fitting 300C/D.

When they arrived, they were only one, not the two paid for, plus the two mount holes ran horizontal, such they fouled the brake air tank. I thought OK, I can change the mount, unbolted my original after removing air tank so I could, then found the main power post was TOO SHORT to bolt up battery lead etc - the one on his relay near half the height/thread of the originals. So now I thought, bugger you, I will send it back.

Despite repeated emails, I never got either a reply, or a cent back. Now near two years later, I see he listed a pair of 300C new sunvisors, so I buy them now, and in the 'ebay request total', I remind him he still owes me ffor the 2 relays, never mind my shipping cost back to him atop original shipping cost, and could he deduct this from the new shipping.

NO REPLY AT ALL DESPITE MULTIPLE EBAY REQUESTS. He is mentioned on this site occassionally - Vans Auto Salvage - ebay name 'vansautollc' - is it just that he doesn't give a toss about foreign buyers, or maybe he so big a volume seller, he doesn't care about all?! He does bigger dollar items such as new repo 300 gas tanks etc - maybe he cares more on them?! Like how many parts would he get returned airmail from Australia - he must have noticed it!!?? Or my repeated ebay emails??!!

Do I just pay up/write of any refund chances by him reducing USPS shipping by amount of refund due, or, do nothing but wait longer, or option three, contact him through ebay one more time?!.

The visor set is $100, looks pretty good quality, shipping around $46, both USPS, and I am out of pocket about $60 Australian on starter Relays including both lots of shipping and return - or about USD $35 - our dollar then was only 65c to yours, at the minute it a great 85c. I only asked him for original payment refund, not even asking for my shipping costs back to him.

Christopher in Australia - frosts near every morning on cars parked outside the last week
