Note that Australian Valiants up to about 1970 as far as I can tell also had the pentastar on the right hand side - so you wouldn't see it from the curb. Either they took this decree too literally or the stamping dies came from the US. It explains why I found the pentastar part number in my 1963 parts book. (Didn't expect it.) I think pretty much all the pentastar questions are now put "to bed". ----Gil C. This bulletin provides guidance for dealers in responding to customer requests for retroactive provision. I hope this helps identify in some way the effective date. On another subject I worked with Pentastar's creator Mr. Stanley's daughter and she provided me with some of his notes. Clearly the badge was artistic in nature competing with numerous other symbols. It's 5 sided image had absolutely nothing to do with divisions, car brands or any other segmentation. I do recall though that in later ads or commentaries it was suggested to be tied to automotive, space, airtemp, boats- motors and recreation and chemicals like Cycleweld. But at its inception, it was selected for its image. My 2 cents..
