Hello, After blocking the intake manifold heat channels on a 383 with Carter 3256 AFB, there has been some backfiring. This happens when the engine is just starting to warm up and when the vehicle is rapidly slowing down for a stop light. After the engine is warm, this issue is less frequent. The engine runs great on acceleration and at low and high speeds. Is this common? I was blocking the heat channels to keep the carb from boiling over, but it seems to have caused this other problem. An insulation blanket under the carb has helped, so I probably will remove the heat block shims. Thanks and Regards, Mark Lindahl '63 300 Conv. (Will be at the Fall meet, but probably only for one night) [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------------------ To send a message to this group, send an email to: Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to: Chrysler300-unsubscribe@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx For list server instructions, go to http://www.chrysler300club.com/yahoolist/inst.htm For archives go to http://www.forwardlook.net/300-archive/Yahoo!
