It's interesting, then, that in the light of going through that embarrassment (let alone any corporate concern for the customer's safety) the only change/improvement to the latch post-incident was to make it a double catch. Seems that was a cheaper, but certainly less secure, arrangement. A second lever latch would have been nice. For all of us, though, it's a heads up to make sure our main latch pins are adjusted so as to click twice when we close the hood. I recall reading here of someone who had his only catching on the first detent. Anybody here ever have their hood fly up at speed in a 300?
