[Chrysler300] The Head Gasket

What is the testing procedure to determine if one has a cracked head gasket?
It's has been rather HOT here in Southern California lately....so I am concerned 
with how my temp gauge is reading; even when driving home in the cool, cool, 
cool of the evenings.
