I couldn't find speedometer cable lube at the auto parts, so I mixed graphite with Lubriplate recently, a mixture I believe is near ideal. Been doing so for 50 years... I just read 2 different posts , one from you and one from Matt, and I got them mixed up. Anyway, since I did reply, a few members have suggested using Vaseline or graphite for lubricating the Tach Cable. Vaseline is very similar in consistency to Speedometer Cable Grease so that may work as well. Graphic may be another option but I would think that you would want something that would stick to on the cable. Maybe using Graphite is the new trend of lubricating these cables. Again....just my opinions. The archives don't say much about what type and how much to use. All suggestions will be appreciated. I am installing seat covers, seat foam, carpet and winnlacing from Gary - The original carpet is still there! - Was covered by another layer. Does anyone know where I can find the rubber gromets that fit in the floor pan that the seat bolts go thru? I am having the aluminum console trim strips polished and don't want to have them re-anodized. Is there a recommended clear finish to use to prevent oxidation?
