No reply from anyone on this part yet.  It's actually called an Arm and 
Pivot or Link in the parts book.  The part number is 1707-370 (although 
I don't think you'll find the number stamped on the part), and it's the 
same on the right front door of most Plymouths and Dodges, and all 
DeSotos and Chryslers (both 2 door and 4 door) for 1957 and 1958.

I'll gladly email a photo if that helps.  Any help out there?
