You don’t have to modify your radio as it connects to your antenna but you have to hook up an MP3/FM radio/cassette etc.  I got one to play my recorded songs on an MP3 in the glovebox, but it would be a pain if you wanted to channel surf on FM.  As yet to install it as the AM radio still needs work.
