Re: [Chrysler300] Exhaust Manifold Gaskets

Whenever I came across engines never previously torn down they also never
had exhaust manifold to head gaskets. The rebuild kits supplied them and as
a teenager I remember being told that the metal side goes to the manifold
since it gets hotter than the head. That's the way I've been assembling
them. Also, over the years I've found warped manifolds that needed surfacing
both on the cylinder head side as well as the pipe flange side.

Actually trying to get an exhaust leak fixed on my Charger in time for
MoPars at the Strip next weekend. Can't take 300 (pun intended) continuous
miles of tick-tick-tick

Hello, everyone:

After 50 years of working on cars, I am beginning to forget what came
naturally
to me about cars. I have a pair of exhaust manifold gaskets that I am
installing
on a B block, one side is metallic and the other side is soft gasket
material. I
took this engine appart some 30 years ago. Which side goes up against the
engine
block? Any help would be appreciated before I attempt put them on the
intake
manifold. Thanks.
