Billll - The speedo bounces because the cable inside the housing is binding. You need to disconnect the housing, with the cable inside, from the tranny and the speedo head on the speedometer. Then pull the cable from the housing. Clean out the housing, then clean the cable. When everything is real pretty, lube the cable with liquid graphite. Get it all soaked up. Also put some in the cable housing. Then insert the cable back in the housing and reattach to the speedo head and tranny. May bounce for a bit before settling in.
