My experience was that the ceramic pads were awesome. On my 2005 Chrysler T&C, the factory brakes were notorious for warping and shuddering. So, after replacing the rotors and pads once, I decided to go with slotted and drilled rotors and ceramic pads. I got them on Ebay, and I think they were $120 for the front set. What a difference, the van would nearly stand on it's grill! I highly recommend them and if you can get the drilled and slotted rotors also, do it. They are made new for many old cars now.

I'm getting advice that runs all over the place with regard to going either semi-metallic or ceramic. And then what brand to prefer - Raybestos, Centric, United, Akebono, and what else? What think y'all?

I hear the metallics grab a little better than the ceramics do, but they also throw off considerably more dust.
