Fuel distribution changes with one carburetor blocked! YES!! Four Cylinders shut down---NO!
There is no barrier in the manifold to prevent either carburetor from feeding the other 4 cylinders, but you certainly might notice some loss of smoothness. Of course, a real 300 engine isn't very smooth at idle anyway.

Ron,
For your future knowledge storage, watch the manifolding configuration with multiple carburetor engines. For instance, a C300, factory manifold, with the dual chokes; each carburetor feeds 4 cylinders. Lose one carburetor for any reason and half the engine (every other cylinder in the firing order) will shut down.

In the interest of problem solving, is it possible to run a dual quad car
exclusively on the rear carb, and effectively 'shutting off' the front carb
? If so, how would you go about that ? I'm assuming that the rear carb is
the one with the choke, BTW.
Note: This is not related to an actual problem. I just need this info so I
can store it away for future use.
Ron
