Hi, Marv:
I recently painted the firewall, inner fenders, radiator yolk, underside of the
hood, all other sheet metal under the hood, door jambs, edges of the doors, door
and hood hinges, trunk spring brackets, underside of trunk lid on my '64
convertible using nearly a gallon of top coat. This doesn't include the reducer
or hardener which will vary according to the desired drying time and wet look of
the top coat.
Having done this much detail, and having the outside yet to do, I felt two
gallons of top coat for the whole car would be more than sufficient for one
coat.
Maybe the experts in the club can be more precise. (I learned how to do this by
trial and error.)
Best,
Ron Kurtz

I am getting ready to order paint for my 58 D. I am wondering how much
others have ordered..I am using PPG DCC Acrylic Urethane. So how should it
take to paint the car?.. Thanks in advance... Marv
