I am running DiamondBacks for all my classic cars. Never a problem; I love
them and would use no one else. Pricey, maybe, but great quality and good
service.

Other than Diamondback ($$$$) I am finding virtually squat for the correct
whitewall in radials. Several years ago this was no problem for the
P235/75R15 tire. Now, Broadway Classics and Dimension IV are no longer
made, American Classics only have 1.6” in this size, and Cooper and others
only have a ¾” whitewall. The only one close to the correct 1 and 1/16” to
1 and 1/8” I can find is Champiro 75 by GT Radial with a 1.25” whitewall. I
am extremely hesitant to go with these, both on principle because they are
made in Asia and also because I suspect they are junk. Has anyone tried
them? Has anyone found other tires in the last year or so with the proper
whitewall? I will not put a ¾” whitewall on a J; it doesn’t look right, and
I will not run bias plys, which actually cost even more. Whitewalls at the
tire stores are going down the path to oblivion faster than a shine runner
in a 300C. Looks like 1.6 inch American Classics or cough up the coin for
Diamondbacks unless anyone has a better idea.
