I have been told by the shop that the problem you are referring to, that is the leak down from the TC/ fluid coupler, in the newly rebuilt transmission. Is the result of a difference between the worn shaft and the sealing O-Ring which comes in the rebuild kit. As to weather it is the result of the (made overseas) O-Ring being slightly off and / or grove worn on the original shaft is not clear. But this would explain why it would burp out after being rebuilt. It only happens to me if the car is stored for a couple of weeks without running. So it takes a few days for enough fluid to leak past and overfill the transmission pan and come out of the dipstick...I like the Cork idea. Perhaps, when rebuilding the trans. we should insist that a measurement be made of the grooved shaft and the o-ring until a match could be found.
