You may need to take the visors to your upholstery shop, and have them redone. When I had some interior work done on our F a couple years ago, that's what I had done, and they operate like new.

Trouble with all the suggestions of wrapping the rods with tape is that 
it doesn't work.  I've tried that.  The spring clip inside the visor has 
very sharp edges, so it just cuts and balls up whatever tape you put on it. 

Gotta have a different idea.
