[Chrysler300] Recommendations re engine and transmission re-building

Hello Everyone--We've recently acquired a 300G. We haven't actually
received it yet, but have inspected and paid for it. We're in the process of
having it shipped from MN to FL, and any opinions on good shippers would be
welcomed.

The main reason for this post is to solicit recommendations for good
sources to a) have the engine gone through; and b) get the transmission checked
out. The car is in need of a complete restoration, so both will be out of
the car, and to me it makes sense to make sure they are in good shape
before re-installing them. At this point, all I know is that the engine turns
over, and the carburetors have been re-built, but are off the car. I have
not seen the engine running.

I would like to try to find somebody within reasonable driving distance of
Crystal River, FL (about 80 miles north of Tampa) to do this work. By
reasonable, I'm thinking within about 3-4 hours away, which would include south
GA. I know there are a lot of Letter Car owners here in FL, so I'm hoping
someone will have some recommendations as to who to go to. As might be
expected, I'm hoping to find a good shop, with particular expertise with the
413 engine and older TorqueFlite transmission, that is not too expensive.

We have an excellent body/paint restoration facility which will be doing
that work, and could probably also do the engine/transmission. However, it
occurs to me that it might be better to identify a "specialist" for those
items.

Finally, we've had some good experience with Space Coast Platers for
re-chroming work, but is there anyone else you guys (or girls, like me) would
suggest?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Shannon Steele
