I have American Classic's 235/75 R15's and like others have stated they are for show not go. I have put almost 9k on them so far, but I am always anticipating them failing on one of my road trips. When the tires were new they took a lot of weight to balance. I mount my own tires and moved them around on the rim in attempt to minimize the weights needed, no luck, they still took a lot of weight. However one was perfect and took no weight. Since new, they are now about 2 years old, the sidewalls have always been lumpy and now one them has a number of small checks in the WW area that appeared this year, the other three do not. The car came with a set of Hankooks white walls mounted. While I was cleaning the car I was using a white wall product to spruce them up. I was scrubbing, and scrubbing, and I could not get the brown off the tire. The white wall looked great but the side wall was brown, it was then I realized that I had scrubbed the black off the tire, it looked like a donut with a frosted top. I then needed to replace them, I liked the looks of the Firestone 721's whitewall, but they are out of production now. I called Firestone and they told me that they do a limited run of the 721's and that I would need to get on a waiting list for them. I called my local dealer and he did not know what I was talking about so I bought the Classic's. At about the same time a friend of mine in my local Mopar club bought Diamond backs for his 58 Royal Lancer and he loves them, I just saw the car last week at our club meeting and they still look great. He races the Dodge at club nights on the ¼ mile and has lots of 90 mph passes on them. I worry every time I hit 70 in the passing lane.
